Please help...Can't hear callers on iPhone4

Hi,

I bought iPhone 4S few weeks beck. Its awsome phone , I have only one problem when making a call, I can hear the other person perfectly but they can't hear me and if they can its really faint. I've tried plugging the earphones in and out because it seemed kind of similar to another problem I came across searching. I've switched it on/off and reset all to no avail... It's driving me crazy ... Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be?? Thanks

I am having the same problem as well. On a phone call I can hear the other person fine but they cant hear me. I know my MIC is 100% functional. I did voice recorder and I can record the sound and my speakerphone works.

1) When on speakerphone they can hear me and I can hear them

2) When on headset they can hear me and I can hear them

3) When on regular they can not hear me and I can hear them and when I speak to the mic I can hear myself only from the earpiece

I tried every way to try to fix it but still no luck.

Headset in/out a million times.

Restored the iPhone 4 times (even different firmware)

Cleaned the headphone jack

Cleaned the mic and even poked holes through the cover

So the only way I can have a phone conversation is either on speakerphone or headset.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP

My friend had the same problem . He called the Apple and he was asked to "Put the headphones in and slowly take them out."   it worked for him I hope it will help you as well . Good Luck :)

Have you checked to see whether your speaker volume is set to zero or not?

Try hard reset (hold home and standby lock button 10 secs). Otherwise, return it to an Apple Store.
